Building prototypes locally is always free and unlimited. You can make as many prototypes as you want, with as many screens as you want, forever, without an account.
Plans only come in when you share a live preview — the link people open to try your prototype in their browser.

What “live preview” means
Live preview is the time people spend opening your link and trying the real prototype in their browser, no install needed. It’s measured in minutes per month and resets each month.
So a 30-minute Free budget is roughly thirty minutes of total viewing across everyone you’ve shared with that month. Building, iterating, and recording on your own Mac never counts against it.
Hitting a limit
If you’re already sharing your maximum number of prototypes, proto share opens your account page so you can upgrade or free up a slot:
You're at your free sharing limit. Opening prototo.app/account —
upgrade there to keep sharing more.If you only need to hand the project to someone on a Mac, Share via GitHub has no limits.
